Polyaspartic Garage Floor Coatings

Polyaspartic products are used in a variety of floor coating systems. Ask whether your proposal uses polyaspartic as a topcoat, a base coat, or both—and which other layers are included.

Why the exact product matters

Manufacturers offer products with different working times and return-to-use requirements. For example, Ameripolish’s Polyaspartic 85 product overview describes UV stability and rapid return to use for that product. Those claims should not be treated as a guarantee for every polyaspartic installation.

Ask for a realistic schedule

Clarify the difference between completing the application and returning the garage to service. Ask for the product-specific schedule for foot traffic, stored items, and vehicles, including how site conditions may change it.

Preparation still belongs in the proposal

Request the moisture evaluation, surface preparation, crack and joint treatment, and any removal of existing coatings. A fast application schedule does not tell you whether these tasks are included.

Choose the finish as well as the resin

Review a sample for color, gloss, and texture. Ask how the topcoat and any traction additive affect cleaning and the feel of the finished floor. No finish should be described as slip-proof.
